On July 10, 1839 the following change of name was announced in official journal no. 22 of the Grand Duchy of Hesse published in Darmstadt:
On June 21, 1839 the sons of the forester Trupp, deceased in Lehrbach, i.e. the customs officer Georg Philipp Trupp of Steinheim, born on 02-14-1800, decd. on 08-26-1870, the forester Johann Adam Trupp of Vilbel, born on 12-25-1804, decd. on 03-22-1864, and the private Johann Philipp Trupp of Offenbach, born 09-03-1811, decd. on 12-18-1892, whose family name had formerly been Trueb called Trub, but gradually had changed to Drubin or Trubin and finally to Trupp were permitted to henceforth use the name of Trupp.
